News from the Ayres Group
Today the group enjoyed lunch together with food from America, England, China, and Sri Lanka. The "Toad in the Hole" from England was a little scary until it was explained there were no toads involved! Thank you to everyone for preparing such delicious food.

This week Prof. Mondain-Monval from the University of Bordeaux presented his work with soft materials for acoustic applications. Prof. Mondain-Monval is visiting UC as part of a group of faculty and students from the University of Bordeaux.

Mario passed his second year research seminar yesterday. Congratulations Mario!
We are pleased that Siyang Wang has joined our group today! Siyang joins from the University of Akron, where she earned her Master's degree with Prof. Vogt and Prof. Cavicchi. Siyang will be researching preparing new networks and gels.
Yesterday the group went off campus together to celebrate a productive year of research full of accomplishments. We had to go early this year before Mario heads back home for a well earned rest in December. Safe travels Mario!
Last Friday Prof. Brian Long (University of Tennessee) visited the department and gave a fantastic seminar on "Utilizing coordination-insertion based polymerization for the synthesis of tailored polyolefins and gas separation membranes". It was a great visit, and we are looking forward to seeing new papers from the Long group soon!
